Artist Statement

I absorb and then dissect the beautiful bizarre nature of what I witness and experience. As I evolve in a dynamic world, my art continuously adapts to, and evaluates life’s progressing struggles and triumphs. Self-reflection and contextualization manifests as abject and/or surreal mixed-media sculptures. The resulting works often incorporate both illustrative and abstract elements to mirror the dichotomy of clarity and ambiguity that is present in life. I vehemently depict aspects of gender and anatomy to examine the experience of existing as a physical vessel. This pursuit has recently broadened to also include an exploration of psychological consciousness and individual perspective. By splicing human qualities with unhuman beings/objects, I ponder the ridiculous and subjective nature of experience. My work offers a realm to contemplate the complexities of reality while also finding levity in its absurdity.
