Biography

3D Modeler, Patrick Pham, new to scene has only been working in Maya Autodesk for a couple of semesters. Beginning in computer coding, soon realized that this was not the right path. As a child Patrick had some artistic talent, but as he grew older that slowly diminished. Now was the time to get back to his roots.

The works he creates are inspired by his love for video games. Growing up, most of his time was spent in front of a television screen with a controller in hand. Becoming a video game developer would be a dream come true. After reuniting with his former artistic self, Patrick Pham is finally set on the right path to create the video games he loves.

Statement

My work centers on asset creation for game environments. I’m specifically passionate about object modeling. I’ve been passionate about video games my whole life. I’ve played all types of different games, from shooters, to story driven, puzzle, and on occasion horror. The first game series I remember playing religiously was Halo. At the time it was one of the biggest FPS(s) on the market. Post-Apocalypse is my favorite genre. It was the Resident Evil series that pulled me in. The goal of the series is to fight off monsters and escape the city. Another element of the game is that there are limited supplies. There’s not enough ammo or healing supplies to use at every encounter. If the player is hurt they would have to make a choice to use a healing item or wait until they take more damage to use it so that it can be used in full. In my own game development I want to try to incorporate these survival aspects from that series. In this game the player can freely roam around the map to explore the environment. However, there will also be monsters roaming around. The goal of the game is to find supplies and survive. This game is a small preview to what I hope to accomplish as a game developer.
