Artist Statement

Art, to me, is largely about the process of being able to learn, expand, and integrate ideas and techniques. To me, an ideal artist is someone who is able to work outside the limitation of a medium through multi-disciplinary collaboration, as well as express the ability to continually learn and expand upon the work they have already created. Not only through various techniques, but conceptually as well. Just like the rendering process, research is integral to the work, as is understanding the connection between concepts, and in the process, creating and expanding their knowledge and ability to conceptualize new, fresh ideas. In my own work, I seek to explore these overlaps within mediums and research, and elaborate upon my previous experiences/research to create a fuller, multi-dimensional portfolio that doesn’t sit entirely within a given genre or theme, but instead explores the depth and complexity that exists between them.
