Artist Statement
The art I make is heavily narrative focused, whether it be a single illustration or asequential piece. My work is made to explore observations on society, experiences growing up, and emotions that are hard to explain away with a simple description. These explorations are usually made through the lense of a fantastical, surreal or even
slightly gothic story to keep the idea explored at an arm’s length and more approachable as it’s veiled behind a narrative not fully grounded in reality. I make an effort to stir a recollection in the viewer of feeling the same way as the characters in my pieces, though the circumstances may be drastically different, and to also gain a better grasp of these ideas that I am exploring myself.
